Abstract: Based on the paradigm of text analysis, Ishihara Chiaki has made great achievements in the research of Japanese modern literature. In the theoretical construction, Ishihara Chiaki constructs the systematic text theory and narrative theory, give the text and readers the absolute right myth attribute. Ishihara Chiaki's text analysis has been paid attention by researchers, but its theoretical construction has not gotten as much attention as it should. This paper discusses Ishihara Chiaki's exposition on narrative symbol, narrator and narrative form, examines the internal relation between the text and the reader in narrative theory, and on the basis of it, clarify the unique value of Ishihara Chiaki's narrative theory.
