Abstract: All kinds of existing surveys showed that most hikikomoris lived with their parents as well as other family members, and became the dependent parasites economically without any income. The family is not only a breeding ground for teenagers’ hikikomoris, but also a root making it persistent. As the hikikomori time prolonged, hikikomoris and their parents grew older, the hikikomoris suffered the strong spiritual stress and economic burden. Their living situations deserved worrying. In terms of the intimate relationship between the problem of hikikomori and the family, and the hikikomoris’ resistance against aids, the problem should be dealt with the family firstly. As the only nongovernment national organization to help hikikomoris and their families, the core aid countermeasures of KHJ is to organize oyanokais. It aims to enlighten the hikikomoris’ parents to face the problems directly, stop reprimanding their children, ease the tensions in the family so that the hikikomoris may go out of their houses and receive aids from relevant organizations.

Key words: Japan, hikikomoris’ families, KHJ oyanokai, family countermeasures
