Japan’s Foreign Direct Investment in the Context of Industrial Digitalization and Implications for China

Abstract: Globally, industrial digitization has become a mainstream feature of the era‘s development. In 2020, the Japanese government announced a new digital economy growth plan, hoping to boost Japan’s economic development by stimulating the digital development of its industries. Meanwhile, Japan’s share of overseas investment in Asia has been high. This paper examines the theoretical logic and practical characteristics of Japan‘s overseas investment in the context of industrial digitization, explores the development path and mechanism of Japan‘s foreign economy in the digital era, and provides experience and reference for China’s foreign economic development.
