Abstract: Modern Japanese law of religious Organization has nearly 150 years history, which has begun since Meiji government’s State Shinto policy, and undergone Meiji Constitution Law, Religious Organization Law, Japan Constitution and Religious Corporation Law. The legislation idea has experienced major changes: the freedom of belief has gradually expanded, and the government’s power to suppress religion has reduced. Finally three ideas have been established: religious freedom, separation religion and state, separation of the sacred and the secular. This change is the inevitable requirement of the development of religious affairs, it is also Japanese deep reflection of individuals and society, which came from the policy to suppress religious freedom. It shows the inevitable trend of the social and human spiritual development.
