Abstract: “Iki” is an aesthetic consciousness based on Yuuri during Edo period，which took shape during Edo period just due to its close relation with social background.Sannkinnkoutai made Edo a newemerging consumptive metropolis with majority of Chonin，Saurai and male.This feature of Edo promoted the prosperity of Yuuli，and produced practitioner of “iki” aesthetic consciousness like Edokko and Otokodae.Furthermore，yuuli literature based on Syarehon and Ninjouhon boosted the promotion of “iki” aesthetic consciousness in Japan.Good sense originated in Gennroku period was finalized in Kase period，which set the features of Kase culture represented by “iki” aesthetic consciousness.
